I sure wouldn't mind hearing this once in a while...

"Thank you mommy and daddy for getting up with me last night right as your head was about to hit the pillow. Thank you for taking me into your bed after I begged and cried for 15 minutes. Thank you for letting me kick you in the head and stomach as I slept. Thank you for waking up every hour or two to me talking about Max and Ruby. Thank you for letting me come back into your bed after you tried to put me back into my bed. Thank you for sleeping at the very edge of the bed so I had plenty of room to sprawl out. Finally, thank you for waking up with my baby brother at 6:30 a.m. You guys are the best! We really appreciate it."

hmmm...I'm not going to hold my breath.

Wouldn't that be so nice? Sometimes I think their way of saying thank you is a random hug or kiss they give you for no reason.

Just say no. No to kids sleeping in parents beds!

I'm afraid I've started a bad habit too; I end up with a one-year-old in my bed in the middle of the night way too often! I tell myself that it's nice to feel so wanted :).

Ah, yes. I have had many nights similar to that. You know what sucks is they won't even appreciate it until they have kids of their own.
