Back in Business!

We have a computer again! Not to mention a house! Not to mention the Internet! It's really good to be home. Here's what's been goin' on in no particular order.

*I am almost 30 weeks pregnant! However, I happen to look like I am 50 weeks pregnant. Don't worry, I have been told that I am huge and look like I am having twins. Is there something about being pregnant that suddenly makes it ok for people to tell you that you are enormous?? Still trying to figure that one out....but don't worry, all is forgiven!

*Did I mention that we are now living in a house? It feels like it has been so long and we are so happy to be here. It feels kind of weird being new. It makes me miss my old neighbors, but everyone has been so nice and welcoming so I'm sure it will be really great.

*Travis and I celebrated our 4th anniversary! I still love him! It's true. I'm pretty much crazy about him. What do ya do?? He makes me laugh all the time, and tells me I'm cute even when I look like a whale of a pregnant lady. Now that's love. There are too many reasons to mention, but this little moment is definitely part of the reason I love him so much...I'm a lucky gal.

*My little brother Nate got his mission call. This is a hard one for me. I think of Nate as my baby brother and I'm pretty sure he is still 8 years old. Sometimes I even find myself calling Nate, Lincoln and vice versa. It's going to be hard to say good bye. I get teary just thinking about it. So I'm really trying not to. He's is such a sweet uncle, Lincoln adores him. whenever the doorbell rings he looks at me and says, "Nate?". He is going to Nashville by the way. I am so happy for him. He will be such a great missionary. Love you Nate!

Oh, by the way, Nate thought it would be funny to slick Lincoln's hair back. Hence, the picture.

*We took Lincoln to the zoo. He really liked it until he got sunscreen in his eyes causing watering and major redness. Other than that he had a great time.

Then I remembered that I am much to big to fit on the merry-go-round.

*We went camping over Memorial weekend. That's right. I am a camper. I camp. Ok, ok, let's not go to far. Anyway, Travis' family finally got to witness first hand how crazy Lincoln is. He really is pretty much a wild man. Not really sure what to do about it. Back to camping...Lincoln loved riding the four wheelers with his dad, and I learned that pregnant ladies really shouldn't ride four wheelers. Now I know.

Lincoln wasn't sure about the funny hat he had to wear. He would only wear it if his dad had his on too. That's my boy!

At Last...

We got a house! Hooray!!! We will be closing on May 28th and moving in 5 days after that. We are so excited. I can hardly stand it. After living in the basement I am really going to appreciate the little things about this house. Like, carpet, heat, and electrical outlets!! It is in Syracuse and it even has more than one bathroom. Hallelujah! I am counting down the days! I will post pictures when we move in :).

Just thinking...

Things my baby boy is trying to teach me...

*Appreciate the little things. He drops whatever he is doing to watch a bird chirp in a tree. He follows potato bugs across the sidewalk until they are out of sight. He points out every airplane that he sees in the sky. He gets so excited when he sees any kind of animal, they make him so happy. He loves hugs. He loves to make fish faces. To him, dandelions are flowers. He loves to swing. He likes to shiver when he eats something cold and then laugh and laugh about it. He likes to taste everything, just so he can experience it to it's fullest. He loves to be chased. He loves looking at pictures of himself and his family. He loves making "funny faces". He likes to dance. He says "hi" to strangers.
He reminds me to find joy in even the smallest things that are around me. Maybe dandelions really are flowers. I guess it's just a matter of perspective!

Seizures

This past weekend was another rough one for sure! Lincoln started sneezing and coughing on Saturday and we just thought he must have a little cold. In the middle of the night he felt a little warm so I gave him some Tylenol and everything seemed fine. On Sunday, he was acting fine so we decided to head to Riverton for a birthday party for Travis' nephew. Just as we were getting to Bountiful Travis looked back at Lincoln and he was having a seizure! We both started freaking out and Travis pulled over. We called 911 and headed toward the ER at Lakeview Hospital. I think Travis was almost going 100 mph. I can't think of a more disturbing image then seeing your little baby in a seizure and I don't want to! At the hospital they gave him some chest x-rays and decided he has Pneumonia. So, we got his medicine and spent the night at Travis' parents house (we are still homeless at the moment). We just had Lincoln in a little Pack-n-play next to our bed and he woke up about every hour. Around 5:00 a.m., Travis just jumped out of bed and ran to Lincoln and he was having another seizure. We called 911 again and the paramedics came and made sure he was okay. I still don't know how Travis woke up, because Lincoln wasn't making any noise. It was just like he knew something was wrong. I guess when it really matters the spirit doesn't mess around! So now, Lincoln is starting to feel better. I guess when he is sick he just spikes fevers really fast, so we have to be really careful to keep him on Tylenol even if he just has a cold. Luckily, there is no permanent damage, and hopefully it won't happen again. I for one, am tired. But once again, feel grateful that it wasn't anything worse.

Craziness

This past week has been nothing but an emotional, crazy, exhausting, roller coaster! Poor Travis, I am pretty sure that I cried at least once a day if not more (okay, maybe a lot more!). We moved out of our lovely little house, which I adored (didn't realize how much I adored it until we left), and moved in to Travis' grandmas basement until we can find a new house. Here's a little tip for all of you girls out there whose husbands may come home one day and say "I found a place where we can live while we look for a new house. It has three bedrooms, a family room, and a bathroom. This way, we can take as long as we want while we look for our new house." Sounds reasonable, right? Ok, so here's where the little tip comes in, DO NOT agree to anything until you have actually seen it. I mean it. I learned the hard way, and that's all I'm going to say about it! Ok, so back to my adorable little house that we just left. I have been thinking about so many memories and things that I learned while living there. Here are a few of my faves in no particular order...

*We had a BABY while living in that house! I learned to be a mother and it was really really hard! I spent many nights rocking back and forth with my little newborn trying to figure out what the heck I was doing!

*I learned what JOY was. Really, it sounds cheesy, but I didn't know until little Lincoln boy graced us with his presence.

*I painted that entire house at least twice, and the bathroom 4 times. As a result, Travis never wants to paint anything again....anything....ever.

*I met a lot of great neighbors that quickly became friends. I will really miss so many of you.

*I remember so many nights Travis and I would walk around the park talking about all of our BIG plans and ideas for the future. We talked about how wierd it would be when we had kids...now we almost have two....what the.....!

Good bye little house, we will miss you. I hope those new people will take good care of you. Especially your yard (it really needs it).

Odds and Ends

Just thought I'd throw on a few random pictures to prove that sometimes we are NOT sick!

Remember how it was spring last week?

Pretty sure I would break BOTH of my legs if I sat like that...

One Day at a Time

So, I think if Lincoln has one more medical emergency somebody is going to have to take ME to the hospital because seriously, I can't handle it anymore.
Last Monday, Lincoln was feeling a little warm and I could tell that he had a little bit of a fever. I didn't think to much about it to be honest. When he woke up from his nap we just cuddled on the couch and watched an episode of Blue's Clues (his ALL TIME favorite show). After his show was over I felt him jerk a little bit. I turned him around to see his face and he went into an all out seizure. All I could think was "this is not happening, this is SO not happening". I grabbed my phone and called 911 (for the second time this year) and hysterically tried to explain what was happening to my sweet little boy. The seizure lasted about 30 seconds (it seemed like 10 minutes). After it ended he just laid there with his eyes closed, moaning. I couldn't get him to wake up. Finally, the paramedics got there and did there thing. Everything turned out okay, but it was absolutely terrifying to me. I felt so helpless. Looking back on it, I really feel so lucky that it wasn't worse and that he will be fine. My heart really goes out to people with children who have cancer or other life threatening illnesses. I can't even imagine, and really don't want to. We are really fortunate. I also wanted to mention what sweet neighbors I have. When they saw the paramedics come to my house they rushed over and were just there. They hung out with me until Travis made it home, and I really needed that! So thank you for your kindness, you guys are making it really hard to move!

On a lighter note, my sweet little brother Derek is engaged. He is going to marry Samantha Speredon and we are so excited to have her in our family. She is delightful and makes such a great match for Derek. We are so happy for them.

Also, this past Friday I had a doctors appointment and we are having a....................BOY! This definitely didn't come as a surprise, but we are so excited! I am getting totally outnumbered! It will be so fun for Lincoln to have a little buddy, and I hope that they will always be close. I love this new little guy already, and can hardly wait for him to join our family!
